Recording New Album & Fishing

I haven’t written a blog in awhile but I feel like I have good reason. At the start of last month Callum, Nick and I embarked on recording a new Curlew album.

It will be titled “I could create a utopia, I would just have to live there all by myself”

We spent two days tracking live in the room. It was good fun. Since then I have been spending my days reamping the guitars and bass, recording the vocals and also mixing.

I have never mixed a full band before so I have been doing alot of research and spending lots of time trying to learn.

I feel that this album is somewhat of a radical departure from the last, (but who knows maybe all my songs sound the same)

Most of the songs on this album are quite short, which in itself is a change, I did however demo a new song while I had some mics up, it won’t be on this album and its another long one, but I’m liking it, I think it’s the best song I have written. But what would I know.

I planned on sharing it on Good Friday, as I thought it would be fitting but many other things came up.
